The last James Bond game to come for the PC was NightFire. PC gamers can sure rejoice that now they too can put themselves on the shoes of the secret agent and participate in some movie type actions. I played the demo to see a glimpse of what this game has to offer. First of all, the demo is too short and doesn’t tell you much of what is happening. You chase a guy through some underground sewer and kill a few guys that try to stop you. The demo can last hardly 15 minutes and gives you to little of the gameplay.
Quantum of Solace is based on the Call Of Duty 4 engine so the graphics are good and the gun combat feels similar to Call Of Duty 4(though a little inferior I think) but there is also a cover system. You can take cover behind wall or any object by using the ‘E’ key. When you take cover the game will shift from first person to third person view. You can then kill enemies by taking cover and shooting. The gameplay is a bit exciting like the Hollywood movie. You are chasing a man through the sewers, killing a few who try to stop you, blowing up things such as generators etc. The enemies will also take over behind objects and sometimes you may seem them jumping and diving from one place to another like in the movies.
You can view your objectives by pressing the Tab key. The interface will also show you a map of the area, where your objective is. There were some options of ‘Camera’ and ‘Data’ there but they didn’t reveal anything in the demo. To find the objectives, you will have to follow the compass which is shown on top of the screen. The game will have a lot of cool gadgets. In the opening scene, you can see the agent lying with a Sony Vaio. I expect the full game to have a lot of such things. The sound of the game is nice, very much like a James Bond movie.
When the demo ends, you are shown a small trailer which shows what you can expect from the full game. The trailer shows you doing a lot of cool things like climbing buildings, jumping on running train, sneaking behind guards ( remember Splinter Cell ). The demo was to short to enjoy it and get the feel of the game. I think the gameplay could have been improved, the cover system was good but the gun combat without cover needs improvement. And looking at the trailer shown in the end of the game, the game will put you in some Hollywood type situations which you will enjoy. The demo shows you very less to make a judgment. I played the demo on max settings at my pc ( Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz , 3 GB RAM, Geforce 8600 GT ). But if you PC could handle COD 4 , it will handle this game.

Ah, seems to be interesting. But I wonder how good the cover system is, I mean popping in and out. Because CoD4 had no cover system, maybe working on that engine and trying to implement it here, didnt go all that well ?
Does it have Bourne Conspiracy movie type hand to hand combat sequences or something? and haha, The advertising in this is also like in bourne’s but yeah, this kind of advertising is better than having some kind of abrupt ones.

The cover is not like the one in Gears of War but it is decent. I haven’t played the Bourne Conspiracy but looking at the trailer, it will have hand to hand combat but similar to ones you saw in Splinter Cell .
