Deus Ex 3 : First Details Emerge

Deus Ex 3

Deus Ex was one the best games to grace the PC. The second installment of the RPG Deus Ex : Invisible War failed miserably due to a lot of bugs and gameplay issues. The latest installment of the game is being developed by Eidos Montreal and details about it are revealed in the latest edition of PC Zone magazine. Thanks to CVG, we know most of the details.

The game takes place in year 2027 and you play Adam Jensen, a security guard at a technology lab for Biomechanical research. On one fateful, the office gets attacked by a team of Black Ops who kill many using a security plan from Jensen’s own hand and the conspiracy begins. Eidos have promised a powerful plot for the third game which will compliment the original game in terms of quality and has even drafted the writer of the original game, Sheldon Pacotti.

An essential part of the original game was Augmentations, biomechanical upgrades that players can use, and there will be around 20 augmentations in this new version. There will be augmentation that will allow you to Bungee Jump or one that allows you to punch through walls and grab enemies. Eidos are keen not to repeat the mistakes that they made with the second installment. The stealth will now rely on the cover system rather than shadows and the health will now auto-heal. Players will gain points through the game which can be used for augmentations or weapons.

The game uses Unreal 3 Engine and looking at the concept art of the game, I do think it will offer a visual treat to players. If all the mentioned features are implemented correctly, we might get to see the same effect which was created by the original Deus Ex. The game will come out in late 2009.

That is one hell of a screen shot. I’m looking forward to this game.
